[There is the sound of buttons being a bit haphazardly mashed, and some slight shuffling. Eventually, there is a quiet 'oh', and the video flickers to life and reveals a handsome young man, dressed in a tight-fitting t-shirt and sweat pants.]

Sorry, folks, I'm still trying to figure out how things work around here. [He gives a little sheepish smile and ducks his head, before glancing back to the camera.] Uh. Hello, I'm Captain Steve Rogers. Some of you might know me as Captain America. I'm from Brooklyn, New York, and I was told that you could use my help up here.

There's not -- a lot for me to do at home right now, so here I am. [A little pause.] Though if anyone could catch me up on -- current events, back home, it'd be appreciated.

I'm not sure, I'm not exactly much of a comic book reader, these days.

Please, Charles is more than fine. Has anyone filled you in on what to expect on a monthly basis, here?

Not quite yet, no.

Every few weeks we have floods, which generally last for a few days and have completely unpredictable effects, and about once a month, we pull into port. We can generally choose to leave the Barge, or stay on board, and the Admiral doesn't usually tell us what the world we're visiting is like before we leave the ship.

...Kind of him. ....Are they actual floods?

No, more like we're taking on the essence of another world or reality we're brushing up against. They're usually signaled by some turbulence, and then the Admiral makes an announcement that we've "taken on water", but it's all metaphorical.

[A small frown.]

...I guess I'll get used to it.

[wedonot]

You will. The floods themselves aren't usually that bad, and most people are quite understanding if you'd prefer not to talk about what happened while you were affected.

Well, that's good, I suppose.
