[Well, it took a while, but he's finally managed to figure out how to filter things from people and not just to people. Steve's place of choice for the day is the art room, settled into a corner with his sketchpad and pencils. He looks a little embarrassed, but -- there's no Bucky here for him to ask about this kind of thing.]

So, uh -- I don't know how many of you noticed, but I'm not...exactly a ladies' man. But I owe a certain lady a dance; promised her one back home, actually. I just, uh, want to make it special, I suppose. And there's no Stork Club around here to do that in.

So what I'm trying to say is -- does anyone have any, um, tips? For this sort of thing? ...Or if you could point me to some good music, say...Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman or someone, that'd be appreciated, too. So, uh. Thanks.

[Eddie could say a lot of things about this. A lot of jokes leap to mind-is she a chorus girl, somebody you met on your USO tour-camp follower, that sort of thing.

The dilemma is...he had a woman once and they had their dance as well. It was a horrible dance, a bloody dance. And then it was a sad dance between two broken people.

He suddenly hates him.

But it would be cruel to make fun of something like this. There's something about this that isn't funny at all.

So there's a grim knock on Steve's door and outside there is a record player-an old fashioned one just the kind that someone born in the 20's and lived in the forties might use.

There are no records save one, Nat King Cole and the word this written on it in big black letters. The song is circled on the back five or six times.

If asked, Eddie will deny it's his til the cows come home and put it on every single other barge patron here. He is not here for kindness at all.]

[He would take it in stride, if Eddie made comments. He might even explain, because if anything, Eddie would probably be seeing a lot of Peggy around sooner or later.

But he opens his door after the knock -- and there's something he hasn't seen in years, and it's really just good to see an actual record player.

He will, however, probably use it, or try to. The thought is appreciated even if he doesn't know who it's from, and once he's done the record player will be left where it was with a note simply reading 'Thanks,' on top of it.]

[Narvin can't quite believe he's offering romantic advice. Which is why this is on a private filter, so no one else can ever know.

But...he actually has experience with romantic dancing. (Thanks Kay.) So he feels obligated to help a fellow warden. He sighs.]

If you want ambiance, the deck is the best location. Get some friends to guard the stairwell from the inside, or set up a security system to ensure yourselves a few minutes privacy. You can set up your communicator to play whatever song you pick. [It's a shame Una isn't around. She'd be best for music advice.]

If privacy is more important than ambiance then clear a space in your quarters and dance there. Someplace private, but that feels relaxed and personable. She might consider being alone with you in your quarters improprietous, however, so I'd stick to the deck if I were you, unless she's a particularly progressive and forward woman.

The basic steps are simple, stick to that and don't try anything fancy. And for heaven's sake, lead properly so she knows where you're going while you're dancing.

You know, I've found that more than dancing, sparkling attracts the ladies. I remember one time I put my feet on a table, leaning back to relax while a friend painted my nails for me, you know? And this one girl just kept shifting my foot back and forth watching the way it sparkled.
