[There is the sound of buttons being a bit haphazardly mashed, and some slight shuffling. Eventually, there is a quiet 'oh', and the video flickers to life and reveals a handsome young man, dressed in a tight-fitting t-shirt and sweat pants.]

Sorry, folks, I'm still trying to figure out how things work around here. [He gives a little sheepish smile and ducks his head, before glancing back to the camera.] Uh. Hello, I'm Captain Steve Rogers. Some of you might know me as Captain America. I'm from Brooklyn, New York, and I was told that you could use my help up here.

There's not -- a lot for me to do at home right now, so here I am. [A little pause.] Though if anyone could catch me up on -- current events, back home, it'd be appreciated.

2011, is what they told me.

[A moment of silence while he just -- takes that in.]

I've never heard of them, so I'm going to assume that's an affirmative.

[The distaste is on his face, even if he holds back the scoff.] Half a century, and nothing will change.

They promised freedom and peace in America. I see it still isn't forthcoming.

I'll be working on that once I get back. Hopefully.

Depends on if I'm given a mission, is all. I think they may have had something else in mind for me before I got here.

And what might that be? [Guess how mutant freedom ranks on his to do list. :c]

Director Fury wasn't exactly clear about details.

And what organization have they appointed to keep the peace in 2011?

All I know of is a group called SHIELD.

I'm sure they thought that was an apt name.

They must have. [An awkward shrug.]

And once this SHIELD's finished with you, Captain. What then?

I guess I'll keep doing what I've been doing. Helping people. Protecting people.

How lucky, for the people you reach.

I guess so. I just ....think that people should help out the little guy a bit more often.

The 'little guy' tends find a way to manage on his own.

Oh, I know. I used to be one.

So did I.

Help is still appreciated. Even if it's not exactly asked for.

...Well hell, if I didn't appreciate Bucky's help, I woulda been laying in every alley in Brooklyn beaten to a pulp at one point or another.

[Erik doesn't particularly feel like going into detail; he didn't have a friend looking out for him like that, it was always him...and Shaw. So instead of a snide retort, he pushes it aside.]
