[Onscreen, there is a very recognizable shield. --Well, to be exact, it's the side of that shield, before a rag is quickly swiped over it and Steve adjusts the camera angle. Scattered behind him is an open sketchbook filled with various doodles of Barge inhabitants, views of the CES, and a tin of polish he scrounged up from somewhere or another. But he settles back and grins.]

Seems like every time we get new arrivals, lately, it's after a flood where everyone's distracted for a few days. So I'd like to say thanks to --everyone who helped me out when I was ...well, smaller than usual. Or offer apologies. I was kinda an argumentative kid, if you didn't notice.

[Spam for Tony:]

[After he's finished with polishing his shield, Steve meanders down to Tony's room with an empty sketchbook in hand and a few pencils, in search of one particular person. He knocks and rocks back on his heels, a little cautious.]

Tony? Hope you don't mind a visitor.

[--And once he's opened the door, hopefully:] I brought you something to keep you entertained. [And he offers the sketchbook, a little sheepishly.] I'm sure you're used to -- your computers, or those tablet things, whatever it was that Coulson showed me, but...it's something, right? Might get some of those ideas out of your head.

Oh, you're the one everyone's been talking about. Let me guess: Warden?

I sure am. People have been talking about me?

Nothing bad. [But the way she drawls it makes it sound like she could happily help him give them something dirtier to talk about.]

Well, good; I can't imagine why they would be. [Yeah, uh, guess who's somewhat oblivious.]

[Oh, Steve. She's going to have such fun with you.] Really? You haven't given them any embarrassing stories? And they claim to be your friends...

[She sure is, because he's just looking a mixture of faintly embarrassed and confused.]

Well, no, but there's always the USO films, I guess. I only met most of them a few months ago.

They're pretty fond of you for hardly knowing you from a hole in the wall. Lucky you.

Well, I guess it depends on who ya were talkin' to. Who was it?

Who wasn't I talking to? Tony Stark, Robert Banner, Bucky...but you do know him, don't you?

Sure do, known him since I was ten.

Mmm, he's nice. [She props her chin on a fist] So you're from 1945, too?

[She's assuming that Bucky and Steve died in '45. How else could they be here, and so young? Buuut she doesn't want to ask that.]

Well, no, but I fought with him. I'm from 2012, I met Dr. Banner and Tony there.

It's....kind of a long story.

I won't make you tell it. Just tell me what 2012 is like.

....Real different from what I'm used to. Bear in mind that I got about seventy years of catchin' up to do.

I've been trying to do it on the barge, but it's not quite working.

The barge isn't like anything anyone is used to, so at least you're not alone there.

Silly question, but what do you do as Captain America? Fundraisers, motivational speeches?

Uh -- save the world, mostly. Though I worked with the USO a long time ago.

[Eyebrow raise. Then a smile that could so easily turn into a laugh.] Save the world, buy bread...same level of excitement for you, huh?

[A little rueful grin.] Well, no, but I'm just tryin' to do my job, is all. It wasn't just me who saved the world either time, anyway.

What are you saving the world from? I'm familiar with the masked hero gig, believe me, but the most any one man can hope is to clean up one city. And even then, it's a tall order. You saving the entire world...either you're exaggerating or you've got the ambition of a well-grounded woman. [If you're offended by that she will scratch you in the faaaace. ...verbally.]

--Well, the first time we stopped an invasion of super-powered Nazis to the US. Second was, uh -- aliens, believe it or not.

[The super-powered Nazi bit gets more of an eyebrow lift than aliens. Which is when Selina has to stop and think about her life to figure out why aliens make more sense to her.]

Does that mean you've got a few superpowers of your own?

Well, I don't ...I'm not bulletproof or anything, just...improved. I was part of a super soldier project back during the war.

[Slow smile] An improved man? That's such a promising idea, and then the government ruins it with 'super soldier projects'. The world would be 'improved' if they could just teach you guys to put the toilet seat down.

If you say so, ma'am. I just wanted to do my part for my country. ....Maybe keep an eye on my best friend, too.
